    Zoloft withdrawal dizziness

Zoloft (Sertraline) is an antidepressant used for depression therapy. With millions of users all over the world, there are many stories of Zoloft effectiveness and also side effects. Since the drug effects are not the same among all the people taking it, some of them want to get off of the drug. Withdrawal of the Zoloft or some other SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) can be a difficult period for a person and it needs some support, either from their doctor, family or friends. There are a lot of symptoms which can vary from mild to severe ones and can be different from person to person. It can be followed up with dizziness, fatigue, nausea and even suicidal thoughts. There are numerous factors which can influence on a person’s tolerance over Zoloft withdrawal. I was on 12.5 mg for 1 week, and I just upped my dosage last night to 25mg. I have some increased anxiety, a little shakiness, and slight nausea. I woke up yesterday morning and was EXTREMELY dizzy, like the room was moving under my feet and having the feeling of wanting to pass out. The xanax I have helps a bit with it, but I still feel really spacey. :) Yes this is a side effect of the drug and you need to take it slow and easy and see if it goes away within at least a weeks time to let your body get use to the new dosage and so on... And on the 8th day I had to increase my dose to 25. I've been feeling this way now for the last 2 days, today has not been as bad as yesterday, but I feel really "funky" and off balance, can't look up and can't move my head quick or the dizziness gets worse. I was on Zoloft twice before and don't remember getting THIS dizzy from it. it should go away within 48 hours as long as you don't up the dose again... Your friend, Pledge, I didn't increase my dose until later that night. I take it around dinner time because last time I started it at night before bed I woke up a few times with nocturnal panic attacks. If it is too bothersome then speak with your physician about this and you may need to be switched... blaze22 My concern is that it happened on day 7 of 12.5 mg. (not too pleasant) But I did up my dose anyway like I was supposed to. So it was in my system for 7 days already, I did not up my dosage until that night so I know it wasn't from that. Just been feeling really crappy and off balance for the last 3 days now. Maybe i'm staying in this "zone" because I did up the dosage while feeling dizzy, or maybe it's something else all together. In as much as I know fairly well, how say, I might react to a certain drug.

Those taking sertraline, also known under the brand name Zoloft, for major depressive disorder (MDD) should continue their regular prescribed dosage, even if they feel better. Missing doses of sertraline run the risk of relapsing into the symptoms being treated in the first place. Discontinuing sertraline abruptly can cause withdrawal symptoms like irritability, nausea, dizziness, vomiting, nightmares, headache and a prickly, tingling sensation on the skin known as paresthesias. Even without abrupt discontinuation of sertraline, withdrawal symptoms may still occur to some extent depending on the time span of use, dosage, individual physiology and the length of time taken to taper off sertraline. These include all the withdrawal symptoms above and may also include concentration problems, bouts of crying, depression, fatigue, diarrhea, memory problems, mood swings, suicidal thoughts and weight changes. These symptoms will generally subside within a month, though doctors say that they can last up to 90 days. We know the struggle, which is why we're uniquely qualified to help.
