It makes sense that it could have went into my ear. I have had the uclers in my nose and just outside the ear canal for a few months which have just cleared up in the last few weeks but are still tender, as I have upped my plaquenil, though the rash is still hanging on on my ears and hands. Sep 12, 2008 I too get ear pain with flares. I've come to believe that it is inflammation caused by sjogrens for me. Do you get dry eyes? dry mouth? swollen glands? Sjogren's can cause all of this. Hopefully some of the others will have more ideas for you too. Mine is a shooting pain and it will cause me to grab my ear in pain. I hardly know anything about tinnitus but I wonder if the fact that it is affecting only one ear makes any difference to the probable cause. Are you taking any aspirin type medicines, salicylates. They can also cause tinnitus. I'd have thought other possible causes would need to be eliminated before blaming the Plaquenil.
